Journalism II

Students wishing to take another year of Journalism to contribute to the Akhbar  can enroll in Journalism II. They must complete an application for acceptance by the Journalism team.

The Journalism II course is a follow-up course to Intro to Journalism and is taught in conjunction with it. While exploring topics around media and journalism, students will also be producing the high school magazine, the Akhbar. In addition, Journalism II students may have the opportunity to take on leadership roles such as editor-in-chief, senior editor, and junior editor. These leadership roles are assigned by the teacher based on need and demonstrated skills. Students will be required to cover at least one campus community event per semester outside of school hours. This course can be repeated yearly for credit, but it can be taken for Core English credit only once.
