In the science program, students explore the laws governing our universe while developing the skills and approaches to thinking and problem-solving used by scientists. Students have the opportunity to investigate and discover the wonders of life, the physical world, and the engineering practices that improve conditions for humans.
Graduation Requirements: 3 Years/Credits
Science Pathways Update: New Integrated Science 9 Course for 2025-26 and Beyond:
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance science education and better align with best practices, we are excited to announce the introduction of a new Integrated Science 9 course, beginning in the 2025-26 school year. This new course builds on the strengths of our current program by providing students with earlier exposure to physics concepts and a stronger emphasis on developing cross-disciplinary scientific skills.
The Integrated Science 9 course is designed to offer a cohesive and comprehensive foundation in science, emphasizing connections between biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. This approach fosters deeper understanding and application of scientific concepts while equipping students with the skills they need for success in advanced coursework.
After completing Integrated Science 9, students will have the flexibility to explore specific areas of interest by taking NGSS-aligned courses in biology, chemistry, and physics, which will prepare them for AP-level science options in Grade 11 and beyond.
Students currently enrolled in the existing science pathway will continue with the current program through their graduation to ensure continuity.
