World Languages
- Prerequisite(s):Corequisite(s):None
In the Intermediate High world language course, students continue to develop language proficiency in Arabic/French/Spanish and understanding of these cultures around the world. They explain preferences, opinions, and emotions and provide advice and give detailed presentations on a variety of familiar and some concrete topics that they have researched, using connected sentences that may combine to form paragraphs. They understand the main idea and flow of events expressed in various time frames in texts, conversations, and discussions.
Students can converse with peers from the target culture in familiar situations at school, work, or play, and show interest in basic cultural similarities and differences, recognizing that significant differences in behaviors exist among cultures, and using appropriate learned behaviors, and avoiding major social blunders.
