Introduction to Journalism

Journalism students should exhibit strong writing, organizational, and editing skills. Students enrolling in the course will learn to publish a professional magazine, and should enjoy working as part of a team. They will write different types of articles, design layouts, working as part of the team that edits and publishes the high school student magazine, the Akhbar. Students will also complete research projects and presentations over media related topics as well as engage with the book What the Fact by Seema Yasmin. Students will be required to cover at least one campus community event per semester outside of school hours. This course may be repeated for credit.
