AP Physics C Mechanics is a full-year, calculus-based, college-level physics course, especially appropriate for students planning to specialize or major in physical science, physics, or engineering. Students will explore Kinematics, Forces and Translational Dynamics, Work, Energy, and Power, Linear Momentum, Torque and Rotational Dynamics, Energy and Momentum of Rotating Systems, and Oscillations. This course focuses on developing the foundation of classical mechanics and applying calculus to solve problems and understand scenarios in real-world contexts. The coursework and inquiry-based laboratory activities will focus on the student's ability to create, analyze, and interpret representations of physical scenarios and graphs, design investigations, and use mathematical models.
