Students will explore the properties and interactions of matter, the cycling of matter and flow of energy through systems, and the fundamental principles that govern forces, motion, and the Earth's systems. They will engage deeply in science and engineering practices, such as developing models, planning and conducting investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, constructing explanations, and communicating scientific ideas effectively. This course also places a strong emphasis on real-world applications and problem-solving, encouraging students to think critically and connect their learning to global challenges. All incoming Grade 9 students will be required to enroll in this course during their first year of high school, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive start to their high school science journey.
