How might critical attention to race and culture shape societal power, knowledge, and personal identity? This course will explore challenging societal topics such as privilege, prejudice, racism, and coming to grips with our differences. They will reflect on their own perspectives and also develop empathy toward the perspectives of others. System thinking skills will be developed through a student choice Institutional Racism project examining discriminatory structures and mental models. Culminating in a declaration of human rights case study. In doing so, they will become empowered to contribute to a more just world.
