Stagecraft II is a semester-long course in which students will learn the fundamentals of two-and three-dimensional design, exploring stagecraft as a broader creative art and design practice. Students will design and create the stage set for the High School drama production. Students in Stagecraft II will have additional opportunities to lead other students in designing, consulting, building and painting sets in addition to their efforts in the design, and construction of sets. They will be assessed on the aesthetic and technical aspects of their designs along with their leadership in the class. Their written and verbal critiques and their cooperative effort will also be assessed. This course prepares students to begin to consider career options that could include set design, prop design, interior design, architecture, and more.

As an additional course requirement during physical set construction students must contribute a minimum of 8 working hours outside of class time (after school and/or at weekend).
