The goal of Health and PE 9 is to foster an appreciation and competencies for lifelong activity by exposing students to a variety of activities and health topics. Health and PE 9 is a full-year course where students will select from a menu of contexts to acquire a broad range of fundamental skills and knowledge, related to movement, sport, and wellness. Students will experience a balanced program that will offer individual pursuits, sport & games, fitness, and health. This foundational course will help students develop their movement competencies, physical literacy, responsible behaviors, and their ability to make informed choices to support their health and well-being. Health classes will focus on conflict resolution, substance use and abuse, and growth and development (sexuality) to support a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
