Individualized Mathematics Studies provides the opportunity for students to explore many areas of math, which may include topics such as ratios, the number system, expressions, geometry, and statistics, based on the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, in combination with each student’s individualized learning goals which modify the curriculum to meet their specific learning needs. Students dive into hands-on and innovative explorations of the aforementioned topics through real-life applications of mathematical thinking such as estimations, money and budgeting, shapes and fractions, problem-solving, fluency with operations, and understanding of place value. Individualized Mathematics Studies meet every learner at their individualized level and foster excitement for mathematical problem-solving, resilience in critical thinking about math concepts, and excitement for exploration in today’s modern society.
