All Grade 6 students develop skills in the areas of Concept and Procedures, Problem Solving and Modelling, and Communication and Reasoning. Students develop these skills through concepts aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics in the areas of ratio concepts, numeracy with a focus on fractions, factors, and multiples, the rational number system, algebraic expressions, one-variable equations, and inequalities, analyzing the relationships between variables, area, surface area, and volume, distribution, and statistical variability.
