Guided Study is designed for students who benefit from Learning Support Services to address their identified learning needs. These needs are specific to the goals identified in the Individual Education  Plan. During class time, students receive small group or individualized instruction on specific skills to ensure they acquire the tools to be collaborative and successful lifelong learners. This class provides an opportunity to re-teach and pre-teach skills and concepts taken from students’ classes. The primary aim of this course is to develop resilient, well-equipped, self-aware students; it is not to complete homework assignments. It provides a small group environment to receive specifically designed instruction in the areas of reading, writing, and math in a supportive environment. In addition, this course supports skills such as self-advocacy, organization, and metacognition while encouraging students to identify their strengths and individual learning needs.
