 Welcome to the American School of Dubai, a learning community dedicated to challenging and inspiring each student to achieve their dreams and to become a passionate learner prepared to adapt and contribute in a rapidly changing world. The American School of Dubai, founded in 1966, enters the second full year of residency on the beautiful purpose-built campus in Al-Barsha in 2012-13. Although the facilities are indeed superb and represent some of the finest in the Middle East, it's the quality of the programs that are provided and interactions that occur within the school community that represent the key to creating the transformative learning experiences that enable students to more fully develop their potential, their understanding of the world and their vision for the manner in which their impact will be positive and lasting in the world. Dr. Mutsch comes to the American School of Dubai with experience in the region, expertise in best practices in education and a commitment to ensuring continued strong leadership for our school. Prior to joining ASD in 2012, Dr. Mutsch served as Superintendent of the Singapore American School, the Saudi Aramco Schools and the International Schools Group in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He also served as Superintendent of the Weld Re-8 School District in Colorado prior to beginning his overseas career in 1994. Throughout his 39 year career in education, Dr. Mutsch has served as high school counselor and high school associate principal and principal prior to assuming his first superintendency in 1990.
